5 Most Revolutionary Ideas- Krista Hinchman

5 Most Revolutionary Ideas

Krista Hinchman

1. First oxygen-breathing animals appear (900 million years ago).  This event is important to history because it was and still is a main source of food for humans.  If the animals never evolved on earth than a major part of our food pyramid would be missing.  We have domesticated oxygen-breathing animals so that we will have meat along with milk and cheese to eat.  http://ancienthistory.abc-clio.com/Topics/Display/1184470

2.   First true man, Homo erectus, emerges in East Indies and Africa. (1 million years ago).  This event is important because we many of our features are from the first true man, such as our arm and leg bones and our height.   They also used tools and fire, just like humans today.  http://ancienthistory.abc-clio.com/Topics/Display/1184456

3.   Agriculture begins to replace hunting in Europe (6000 years B.C.).  As this began, it turned into another one of our main sources of food, all around the world.  Agriculture provides people with the nutrition they need to live.  The crops also helped the people get food where animals were rare.  http://ancienthistory.abc-clio.com/Topics/Display/1184470

4.  Use of Bronze (2000 years B.C.).  Bronze in Europe was the beginning to iron technology.  Bronze was used to make axes, sickles, spears and fishhooks.  The invention of Bronze helps us now, as in the past, in many aspects of our every day lives.  http://ancienthistory.abc-clio.com/Topics/Display/1184487

5.  Man begins to make artificial shelters from branches (400 million years ago).  This was the start to developing a community and a place to live.  People gave up chasing food and began growing it themselves.  When they did this, they needed to build shelters near their food supply.  They then developed pottery for storage and cooking. http://ancienthistory.abc-clio.com/Topics/Display/1184473
