If this didn’t happen, the world would not exist. This is the most important thing that happened to the world, and the beginning of time.
800 Thousand Years ago: Man learns to control and use fire
This discovery makes man be able to stay warm and to heat food. Without this, there would be no way to stay warm in the winter, and he could expand into colder areas and not die out in the winter.
8000 B.C: Man cultivates his first crops, wheat and barley in Near East
With this, man doesn’t have to be a hunter/gatherer to survive, instead, he can be an agriculturalist, and for the most part grow crops closer together and more conveniently. Man doesn't have to devote all of his energy to search for food, and can instead develop other aspects of his survival.
3500 B.C: Wheel originates in Sumer
With this, man can move large and heavy amounts of objects, including wood, tents, weapons, and other ways of surviving without having to lift everything by himself. Now they can slide heavy items along land with a wheel. It paves the way for transportation and further inventions involving wheels.
3500 B.C: First writing, pictographs, composed in Near East
With this, man can express himself in ways other than talking and can record and document events that occur. He can begin to make the start of language, which will become essential in a few hundred years. It allows man to communicate over greater distances, and with more people than ever before.
These five events are revolutionary and without them modern humans would not be able to document events and communicate, live through the cold winter months, travel long distances, grow food near where they live so they don't have to spend time scavenging, as well as many more things. These discoveries were essential and without them, modern humans wouldn't be nearly as advanced as they are today.
